Collections Officer

Location:  12020 Rojas Drive El Paso, TX 79936

Shift:  M-F 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., some Saturdays

Description:  Responsible for performing collection activities associated with serious delinquent member loan accounts, including credit cards. Reviews delinquent accounts, determines Credit Union position and, as circumstances indicate, directs and assists legal counsel in collections' proceedings. Ensures that the Credit Union's professional image is maintained. This position requires excellent public relations skills and a thorough understanding of the Credit Union's lending policies and procedures as well as related legal requirements. Persistence, professionalism, and tact are vital to the successful execution of this position.

Requirements:  EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High school graduate or equivalent. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of collection procedures and related laws and regulations. Understanding of Credit Union loan products and policies. Familiar with default and enforcement clauses. Familiar with deposit programs, account ownership, and casualty insurance. Basic understanding of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. Understanding of Small Claims Court system. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Previous collection experience with full-service financial institution helpful. SKILLS/ABILITIES: Accuracy and thoroughness in work. Excellent communication, telephone, and public relations skills. Ability to work well independently. Ability to work well in stressful situations. Ability to operate related computer applications and other business equipment including calculator, typewriter, copy machine, printer, credit bureau terminal, telephone, fax.

Salary: Range: $12.15 - $16.66 per hour

Mortgage Loan Processor

Location:  12020 Rojas Drive El Paso, TX 79936

Shift:  M-F 8:30 am. to 5:30 p.m., some Saturdays

Description:  This position will work closely with the loan originator and the loan manager. The loan processor must know the mortgage loan guidelines for all loan programs being offered including Conventional, FHA, VA. The loan processor must understand all disclosures and their purposes. The processor is required to keep abreast with changing guidelines and regulations affecting the mortgage department and participate in continuing education. For public relations purposes, the processor must be willing to attend Community events as a representative of the Credit Union. Responsible for the overall auditing mortgage loans that TFCU provides to members/potential members. For promoting Credit Union mortgage loan products to members and potential members. Conducts initial pre-qualification interviews as needed to assist the Mortgage Loan Officers. Conveys policies for extension of credit in accordance with Credit Union and secondary investor guidelines. Have essential product knowledge to properly communicate products to members and potential members. An understanding of interest rates is required; in addition must actively listen for cross-selling opportunities of all Credit Union products and services. Serves members, prospective members, builders, title companies and Realtors promptly and professionally. Assists Mortgage Loan personnel as necessary.

Requirements:  EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High school diploma or equivalent, bilingual, plus three years experience in mortgage loan processing. As required by the Safe Act; must be licensed or registered through the NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System) and maintain annual renewals. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of current consumer and mortgage lending regulations at a federal and state level. Understanding of the foundation of determining credit worthiness. Knowledge of Credit Union loan policies, products, procedures, processing, and underwriting guidelines. Familiarity with title reports, insurance, and appraisals. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Previous loan processing experience with Conventional, FHA and VA loans highly desirable. SKILLS/ABILITIES: Strong interviewing skills. Excellent communication and written communicationskills. Knowledge of the operation of general office equipment such as personal computer, 10 key calculator, etc. Ability to evaluate alternative solutions and make sound andeffective decisions.

Salary: Range: $13.66 to $16.66 per hour

Member Service Representative (MSR)

Shift:  M-F 8:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., most Saturdays

Description:  Responsible for performing a wide variety of member services, sales and service functions and generating sales referrals within the branch to assist in achieving goals. Performs miscellaneous loan closing activities as assigned. Incumbents in this position provide quality financial service to members and prospective members, and all other tasks as assigned by supervisor. This position requires excellent public relations skills, a thorough knowledge of deposit services and all other credit union products. Multi-tasking is essential for this position and it requires a thorough understanding of teller functions and procedures. Timeliness, efficiency, accuracy, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and professionalism are vital to the successful execution of this position.

Requirements:  EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High school diploma or equivalent. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of Credit Union loan services, policies, and procedures, collection policies and regulations. Understanding of related legal and regulatory standards, and required loan documentation and procedures. Knowledge of consumer and residential lending practices. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum 1-3 years of related experience in the financial services industry. SKILLS/ABILITIES: Excellent interviewing, communication, and public relations skills. Professional appearance and a positive team centered attitude. Strong analytical and financial skills. Ability to operate related computer applications, and other business equipment including calculators, PC, printer, telephone and general office equipment.Good typing skills. Excellent multi-tasking skills required.
