It can happen to anybody. You spend more money than you have in your checking account. It could be an unexpected expense, an emergency car repair, math errors tracking your checking balance, or simply an oversight due to the hectic nature of day to day living. There are all sorts of reason people may overdraw their checking account.
When this happens, TFCU has you covered with Courtesy Pay! Courtesy Pay is a safety net available on your consumer checking account to help protect you if you accidentally overdraw your account. TFCU’s Courtesy Pay is designed with member friendly features, and different from large banks only interested in the bottom line.
- $5 Courtesy Pay fee, if amount of transaction causing overdraft is $10 or less.
- $30 Courtesy Pay fee, if amount of transaction causing overdraft is more than $10
- Meaningful Courtesy Pay limits up to $2,500
- Courtesy Pay does not cost you anything, unless you use the service.
You do not have to sign up for TFCU’s Overdraft Service to work for your paper checks, Bill Pay or electronic (ACH) items you originated from your checking account. However, you do have to “Opt-In” if you want the protection of TFCU’s Courtesy Pay Overdraft Service to apply to your everyday debit card and ATM transactions by completing the Courtesy Pay Opt-In Form and returning it to a branch location.
